11 Second Club October 2017

Many congratulations to our 2nd year undergraduate animators at Escape Studios for their stellar performances in October's 11 Second Club competition. Out of 187 entries overall, five of our students placed in the top 30, and ten in the top 60. To see some of the best entries, scroll down and watch the videos below.

What's this all about?
It's the 11 Second Club for October 2017. Our 2nd year undergraduates were asked to enter the competition as part of their character animation module.  Entry wasn't compulsory, but was encouraged. About a dozen students entered, and they all placed within the top 100 entries.

The brief this month was a very open one, with only one actual word in the 11 Second clip - the single word "Jesus", which comes after a good deal of crashing and banging.  All the entries were quite different, choosing to interpret in the sound track in different and inventive ways.

11 - Imperial Invasion by Sebastian Kuder
Sebastian Kuder chose a Star Wars themed entry.

17 – Spooky Spaceship by Aaron Hopwood
Aaron Hopwood animated with the Kayla rig, on a spooky spaceship.

20 – Jail Time by Maria Robertson
Maria used the Malcolm rig, and interpreted the clip as an unfortunate person being locked up in jail.

22 – Do Not Touch by Harry Pearson
Harry Pearson set his shot in a museum full of precious (and delicate) objects.

28 – Locked In by Katerina Zacharakis
Katerina set her shot inside a mysterious corridor.

36 – Blast Away by Daniel Dutton
Daniel Dutton interpreted the clip as being part of a mysterious weapons testing centre.

Congratulations to everyone who entered, and for the high standard of the entries.  Remember that these are students who are only just beginning their second year of studies - who knows what they will be able to achieve over the next two years.
